Welcome to my blog. I've decided to first give a run-down of the camera gear I use to make my photos. My primary tool is the Wista 4x5 VX field camera. While there are certainly lighter cameras, I really like the quality of it's build. I've added a maxwell screen to it ($$ but well worth it) and have taken off all the handles and extras that just add weight. A few years back I even carried this beast and three lenses with me 211 miles on the John Muir Trail.
I began collecting lenses, quite heavy at first, but have refined the kit over time. A special thanks to Kerry Thalmann for his site and all the info on light-weight LF lenses!
I'll be adding some pics of lenses that I have had modified (S.K. Grimes) and any other goodies I can think of.
Also, I'll be posting trips and climb reports so keep posted!
Hope you enjoy it!
